Henri
Pastor Eddie Castillo

Some time ago I heard the following story:
“I met a young man, a Christian singer, truly extraordinary. His name is Henri. What makes Henri extraordinary are not the gifts operating in his life as a singer, guitarist and  composer , but his confidence in the care from God. One day we were in a meeting in a house and Henri sung  a song that left all of us in tears, in the true presence of the Lord! – The name of the song is “Somebody takes care of me”.  The song was born when several   persons saw him alone in the city buses, and asked him: ‘Youngman, are you alone?, is somebody accompanying you?, Is somebody  taking care of you?’ His reply was (and still is): “Somebody takes care of me”.

This testimony seems to be insignificant, and maybe exaggerated, until you know that Henry is blind! – Henri lives trustful, knowing that God takes care of him……….

When there is prosperity in our life it is easy to say:  “I rest in the care of God” -

Since everything is calm, at that time, it seems we believe it with all our heart.  But, what happens when problems arrive in our life?  Are we calm and relaxed?  Is whatever we are saying, parallel with whatever is happening in the deepest part of our heart?  No.  Actually our anxious worry denounces us; the very  opposite is true, there is no rest, we are not relaxed.  Why not?  Because, what it is true in those moments, is that we have not learned to relax in His care.  Is there a solution for this? Of course there is.

JUST BELIEVE AND TRUST IN THE LORD!
One way in which confidence comes, and grows in our heart, is when a person is faithful to us, once and again (when he/she remains and does not disappear during the most difficult moments of our lives). Another way is when we see how a person, relative, friend, employer, etc., complies with the promises made.  A third way, and perhaps the most important, is by the type of relationship that we enjoy with a person.  Generally, the relation between father / son shuts up all the elements of a relation in which it is possible to rest fully, or with our excellent Father: our celestial Father. Jesus clarified it on having said:  “If you then, being evil knows how to give good gifts onto your children. How much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” (Mathew 7:11)

So that we have reasons to develop confidence in God's care:

  1. Because He proves to be faithful repeatedly, especially in the difficult moments.
  2. Because He complies with what He promises.
  3. Because He is the excellent Father. He protects us, provides us, educates us and prepares us. He complies infallibly with these obligations. (Mathew 6:25-34; Philippians 4:s-19)

Almost always that the Bible speaks about  God's care for his people, there also appear the  emulation, the worry and the anxiety.
We must be watchful at all times so that none of these three elements (emulation, worry, anxiety), gain space in our lives. “They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abides forever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth ever forever”  (Psalm125:1-2)

Never see your problems bigger than God, because God is always much bigger than all your  problems put together!
